After celebrating the New Years Day, here we are again. celebrating the Sinulog Festival. Devotees all over Cebu Provinces and other neighboring provinces never missed the fun and excitement as the second week of January strikes. It's because, Cebuano's traditionally celebrates the feast of the Queen of the South's beloved Sr. Sto. Niño. This tradition was started multiple of years ago after the Spaniards brought the miraculous child.
Here in Cebu, different places were developed to be a tourists sanctuary. We have numbers of resorts that caters the needs of those who loves swimming. We also have the finest hotels that can be compared with those in other places. And one thing that a Cebuano or a tourist should not dare to miss in Cebu, is the most popular and the biggest feast of Sr. Sto. Niño.
To satisfy everyone's hunger, Cebuano's offer rituals by dancing on the street for the beloved senior as one of the highlights of it's feast, and this is called the Sinulog Festival. This year the Sinulog Festival was celebrated last January 15, 2012. Cebu City's main roads were closed for the biggest celebration of the year.
Performers from different places in the Philippines came to fill out the streets with their colorful costumes while dancing to the beat of the Sinulog rhythm. The streets were filled with with various people, from children to old ones, Filipinos or not.
It was such a great feelings to have my feet on the streets with different people around me. But, instead of getting tired, I found myself taking photos while enjoying the performances they presented, the colorful floats passing and of course shouting as the gorgeous and handsome actors and actresses passed by.
And to be honest, it's my first time to see Gerald Anderson in person, my ultimate crush. It seems like a big OhHh for me!!
Though it was a tiring day, but indeed I felt fulfilled because, I was able to celebrate the Sinulog Festival in a very hilarious way. It was totally a different feeling when we heartily spare our time for the beloved Sr. Sto. Niño. And one thing that I can be very proud of is that, I am a Cebuano and I have the heart of being one.
VIVA PIT SENYOR!!!
